Want To Learn Complete WordPress Dashboard Styling?
Do you know CSS
First of all, sorry this is not a tutorial. Well, not yet anyways. I am interested to know if it's worth my time to post a tutorial on how to do this. Here is the New2WP.com WordPress dashboard. I just started this today, not finished yet, but you can get the idea I think. I have taken things like this, and this to another level of customization. A complete redesign of the dashboard.
Do you want to know how you can do this
If you are interested to know how you can do this, and MORE, please post a comment below. I basically want to get an idea of how many people are
- really reading my posts here, and
- looking to learn how to do something like this on their own sites.
The level of effort in doing this is minimal, except for when you have plugins that don't use the same format for displaying option pages and such. You really only need to know some CSS, and how to edit your theme template files. Of course, you need a sense of design, or creativity too.
So, please comment below if you would like to see a tutorial posted here on how to do this yourself.

I was hoping at least one person would be interested in this and how to do it. I am surprised you are the only one to comment with an interest in this. and it was posted 10 days ago, even :(
I thought this would be a cool idea people dont know how to do cuz its original ya know. I kind of have a better idea how active a site this is now.
Oh, btw I am still going to do this for you at least. Me and you can be the only one's with a cool looking custom wordpress dashboard. ;)

Hey Jared! John is not the only one who wants to know how to customize the WordPress Admin control Panel :) I wasn't looking for this type of post when I arrived at your site; I was searching for help on getting a feature slider post to work in the Traction theme.
But you have a great looking site and a lot of interesting posts for the DIYers. I was actually very surprised to see this post! There have been numerous times I wanted to customize my WordPress Admin Panel. But the idea usually popped up while I was heavily into something else, so haven't taken time to search.
Some customizing things I would like to learn:
* how to highlight the commands and options I use most frequently (I hate searching and searching because I can't remember exactly where an option resides)
* how to get rid of those blog postings placed there by WordPress. I would prefer not to have other folks' stuff showing up in my Admin panel, unless I put it there myself.
* how to group settings (similar to highlighing frequently used stuff)
* how to add a page - maybe a help page or something similar
* whatever YOU want to teach me!
And don't worry, 10 days is NOT a long time for a post to hang around without getting comments and hundreds of views. I recently did an article on "ever-green content" and one of the key features is that it still gets view and is useful even after a couple of years go by! Your final tutorial on customizing WP's admin area might be one that's "ever green." :)

I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW!!!
I'm doing a new site right now that encourages users to use their dashboard - but i want to make it more like the rest of the site, because it is really confusing to non-wordpress members.
