This weekend is the next event for the Boston Web Design meetup group and it's going to be a really great one that is not to be missed. The Word Wide Web Consortium (WC3) will be there to present and talk about some new core technologies on the web today and of the future.

There are presentations planned that will talk about HTML 5, CSS 3, SVG and JavaScript. You can see why this is worth your time to check out. Anyone who will be in the Boston area this weekend must come and check it out. It is being held at the Microsoft N.E.R.D. Center in Cambridge.

This free event will also have pizza and drinks!

You can get more details on the meetup page.

  1. Nummy pizza...I can't wait until they add the CSS3 to the validation service as I like to use text-shadow and box-shadow a lot but it makes it so my sites don't validate. :(

  2. Yeah I agree. There is a validator for HTML5, http://validator.nu, but I'm not sure if it's still in development. At the time of this meetup it was not complete.

As for CSS3, it will be nice to have a validator for it, not sure when they will add it.

  3. I'm still doubting on whether to use HTML5 and CSS3 fulltime for new projects. I hate the fact that the entire IE branch (IE8 and less) still have to depend on Javascript to properly display certain HTML5 elements. Turn Javascript off in those browsers and you're left with a mess.

IE9 will fully support HTML5 right? Now THAT is interesting. Anyone got any idea when that browser is coming out?

  4. I believe IE9 is coming out sometime either this year or next. But there is the other little thing that HTML5 won't be fully released until something like 2020 or whatever it was that I heard.

  5. i dont like ie9 interface... its not user friendlz

  6. have you tried out IE10?

  7. Yes! I want to learn more about HTML 5 and CSS 3. The Boston Web Design meetup group can help, I guess.
