Google introduced its newest hardware lineup during the 2026 Made by Google event, featuring the Pixel 11 series smartphones, an updated smartwatch, and the company’s first tracking device.
Pixel 11 series refines design and display
The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold keep the familiar design of earlier models but include small refinements. The camera bar now lies flatter against the phone’s back, reducing protrusion when placed on a surface.
Display improvements stand out in the Pro models. Peak brightness reaches 3,600 nits, while HDR brightness hits 2,400 nits, changes that improve outdoor visibility. An anti-scratch guard is included, though Google still advises using a screen protector for heavy use.
Pre-orders for all four models begin August 12, with shipments starting August 20. Buyers receive gift cards: $100 for the Pixel 11, $200 for the Pro and Pro XL, and $350 for the Pro Fold.
HiLight feature has limited launch support
The Pixel 11’s HiLight feature, which lights the phone’s edge with custom colors during notifications, works only with phone calls and Gemini interactions at launch. Google plans to add support for Google Messages later but has no immediate plans for third-party app integration.
Users can select from five colors, but the feature is available only on the Pro models. The base Pixel 11 does not include HiLight.
Early reviews indicate the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s display crease is less noticeable than in previous generations. One reviewer described it as “about as invisible as Samsung and Oppo’s latest,” a clear improvement over earlier foldables where the crease drew frequent complaints.
Pixel Watch 5 adds health tracking and fast charging
The Pixel Watch 5 keeps the 45mm size of its predecessor but introduces new health features. The Health Guardian system now tracks Blood Pressure Trends and Insulin Resistance Trends, alerting users to potential changes in those metrics. A Smart Wake function, previously available on Fitbit devices, uses gentle vibrations to wake users during optimal sleep stages within 30 minutes of a set alarm.

Charging remains quick, reaching 100% in 60 minutes, matching or slightly exceeding the previous model’s performance. Carriers offer promotions: Verizon includes the watch free with a Pixel phone purchase, while AT&T reduces the price by half. Google’s trade-in program provides up to $400 off with an eligible device.
Pixel Tag enters the tracking device market
Google’s first tracking device, the Pixel Tag, will launch in November for $29. A four-pack will cost $99. The tag works with Google’s Find Hub Network and is small enough to attach to keys, fit in a wallet, or slip into a bag without adding bulk.
No additional features were announced beyond basic tracking, though updates may expand functionality later.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 received a new Olive color option to match the Pixel 11 Pro lineup. No hardware or software changes accompany the release.
Tensor G6 chip aims to balance smaller batteries
The Pixel 11 series has smaller batteries than earlier models, but Google states the new Tensor G6 chip and improved vapor chamber in the Pro models will maintain or improve battery life. The company estimates the Pro models will last up to 30 hours, while the base Pixel 11 will reach 24 hours.
Initial tests show over-the-air updates install faster on the Pixel 11. One reviewer noted a 600MB update completed in under a minute, a noticeable improvement over past devices.
Magic Capture, an AI-powered feature, automatically saves high-resolution still images during video recording when it detects a key moment. The photos are stored alongside the video, removing the need to pause and take a picture manually.
