Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026, with a standard price of $79.99 for the PlayStation 5 version—or $100 for the Ultimate Edition. That cost has already drawn complaints from fans, but Costco members in the U.S. can cut the price further by purchasing a four-pack of Sony PlayStation eGift Cards for less than the game’s full retail value.

The deal was spotted by users on the r/PS5 subreddit, who noted that the gift card bundle lets buyers access the digital version of the game at a discount. Physical copies still include a download code, meaning the savings apply even if players prefer the boxed version. However, the offer comes with restrictions: it’s limited to one purchase per transaction, with a two-purchase cap over 14 days, and the gift cards arrive via email within 24 hours. They’re also non-refundable.

Costco membership is required to take advantage of the promotion, and the gift card discount is only available in the U.S. While the savings may not justify signing up for a membership solely for this deal, existing members can combine it with other Costco perks. The Costco page also lists some stipulations users will need to consider. Nonetheless, those without a Costco membership may still have other ways to save, though there is still plenty of time between now and November 19.

For other ways to save on “Grand Theft Auto VI,” Xbox Series X players can get early access through a unique trick, but Amazon Prime users may also want to check whether the company ever offers a similar deal on its own PlayStation digital gift cards. The original $5 deal may have already passed, but it doesn’t hurt to keep looking through November. Other retailers may offer similar deals, so keep your eyes peeled.

Also, remember you can trade in your old games to save money on “Grand Theft Auto VI.” Stores like GameStop can offer trade-in value, and that applies to items beyond games, too. Tablets, smartphones, MacBooks, and even graded trading cards may help you get a cheaper route to the latest Rockstar title. Certain items can even offer trade-in bonuses. The price tag for “GTA VI” may be steep, but a bit of research may help save you some money before the title officially drops in November.
